For many years now,Ecuadorian people (such as I) have dreamed of having our national team participate in the World Cup. On November 7th the dreams of my countrymen and I came true. Ecuador would face Uruguay in the Ecuadoruan capital of Quito.

The day was here at last. The game that determined wether or not Ecuador would go to it's 1st ever world cup. All they needed was a tie or a win.

The game started as Ecuador looked on with high hopes.
Some of thoes hopes however, were slaughtered when Uruguay scored the 1st goal in the 42nd minute of the 1st half.
Many people were distraught and affraid that the 2 year long campaign will have been in vain.
